- Miami is the way to go tonight.
Yeah, Florida is the preseason No. 1 and they’re bringing back basically their whole frontcourt from the championship team. That’s real. But this is a neutral-site opener in Tampa, and the Gators have been pretty bad against the number on neutral floors lately. Miami’s been solid as an underdog, and they have enough size and talent (Reneau, the transfers, the young guys) to hang around for 40 minutes.
Early-season games are messy. Florida should win, but a lot of the projections have this landing in the mid-to-high 70s for both sides. That covers the number pretty easily. The public’s all over the Gators too, which usually means there’s a little value on the other side.
