My selection is on Texas State minus the points over North Texas at 12 noon et on Saturday. I really like the setup for the favored Bobcats at home on Saturday as they check in desperate for their first victory of the season. Texas State is 0-2 SU and ATS but has faced a couple of tough opponents in Texas and UTSA. North Texas on the other hand has split its first two games, losing in predictable blowout fashion at Indiana before rebounding with an 'upset' win at home against UNLV last week. I feel a letdown is in order for the Mean Green Eagles here off that stunning 44-6 rout of the Rebels last week. North Texas figures to take a step back this season as it lost a lot of talent from last year's team that reached the AAC Championship Game. Meanwhile, Texas State reached a Bowl game (and won) a year ago despite an up and down campaign and returns a lot of the key pieces from that team. This is a rematch of a Bowl game Texas State won 30-28 in January of 2025. Take Texas State (8*).NCAAF - Point Spread - Sat, Sep 19 @ 03:30 PM

*3 Star Free Play Over* Both of these teams rank in the top ten in the country in tempo. Briles is pushing South Carolina to play much quicker in his first year as OC. Jeff Lebby's teams always prefer to play fast, and now they have an elite quarterback in charge of the offense. Mississippi State's offense has put up 46 plays of ten yards or more in two games. This is a really explosive offense. Kamario Taylor is an elite playmaker at the quarterback position, and I do think he'll give the South Carolina defense fits. Lanorris Sellers is an excellent quarterback too, and South Carolina is easily the best offense that Mississippi State has gone against thus far. South Carolina's wide receivers have dropped a bunch of passes so far, but that should improve in time. Harbor is a big play guy who could hit an explosive at any time. Lebby and Briles are elite offensive minds. They have excellent quarterbacks controlling things as well. The Miss State defense will be exposed by the best offenses, and I think their regression toward the mean begins here. A fast paced game. Take the over. Free Play from Doc’s Sports. MLS Soccer Take San Jose +0.5 GL over LAFC (7:30 p.m. EST, Saturday September 19) San Jose hadn’t won a match since the World Cup up until recently but lo and behold they have now won two straight and look like a completely different side. They manhandled a good San Diego side on the road in a 3-2 win that was more dominant than the final score might indicate. And last week they gutted out a 1-0 win here at home vs. a Houston side that is one of the top teams in the Western Conference. We were on San Jose in that one and mentioned in our writeup that one of the main problems with the Earthquakes since the World Cup break is that they were lacking confidence and now they seem to have it back in spades and their play has been exceptionally strong. They are now unbeaten in four straight matches, and they are back in a Top 4 spot in the West with a chance to move higher with three points here. We only need a draw however, to cash this ticket, and we think they can do enough to get at least a point. LAFC is coming off a 3-1 road loss at Kansas City, one of MLS’s worst sides. LAFC are behind the Earthquakes in the standings despite all the struggles San Jose has faced since the World Cup break. They have only one win in their last eight MLS matches, and this side is just not playing championship-caliber futbol right now. San Jose always raises their level of play when LAFC comes to town and have won five of the last six meetings here.NCAAF - Point Spread - Sat, Sep 19 @ 10:00 PM

My free play is San Diego State. Last week, the Aztecs faced a bunch of James Madison transfers when they played UCLA. SDSU held the Bruins and the former Dukes players and coaches scoreless in the first half and didn't allow a second score until midway through the fourth quarter. This week the Aztecs are facing the new James Madison Dukes, which includes 61 new players. JMU is 2-0 but this is a tough trip for a rebuilding program. I believe the Dukes will struggle badly on offense (only one starter returned). My free play is San Diego State. Thanks and best of luck! Jack Banks.NCAAF - Point Spread - Sat, Sep 19 @ 11:00 PM

Take Oregon St Oregon State is coming as -17.5 home favorites. Both teams have completely opposite courses so far this season, as Oregon State has been winless and has the third-worst defense in the whole country, allowing 68 points per game, while Montana has been undefeated by against FCS teams. Montana has failed to cover the spread in all of its three wins, while Oregon State covered the spread in both losses, as it had to face Houston and Texas Tech to start the season. I expect Oregon State to do much better against an FCS team and cover the -17.5 spread at home today.
