Analysis: This is effectively a home game for the Cougars. Delta Center in Salt Lake City will be packed with BYU fans, and they’ve been excellent there recently (including blowing out ranked Wisconsin last year). The line has already moved from -1.5 to -3.5, which tells you the market likes them too. BYU is built to score in bunches. They’ve got one of the best shooting groups in the country—multiple guys who hit 39-41% from three last year, including stretch big Jaxon Kohler. That spacing creates problems, and Kohler should have a clear edge against Ohio State’s frontcourt options, which still look unsettled. Ohio State has talent in the backcourt (Mobley, Pippen, and freshman Anthony Thompson), but Mobley’s ankle from the exhibition is still a question mark, and their bigs don’t match up as well. Early-season chemistry will be a factor for both sides, but the environment, shooting, and frontcourt mismatch give BYU the better shot to cover. A lot of the sharper takes are landing on the Cougars in the mid-to-high 80s. Play on the BYU Cougars minus the points rotation #858
