Off yesterday's 5-4 road loss to the Halos, look for the Twins to bounce back with a massive effort here. Los Angeles rarely goes on extended winning streaks and manager Kurt Suzuki and his men will have a problem here.
On the bump for the visitors will be left-hander Connor Prielipp. Facing the Guardians and Tigers (twice) in his last three September starts, No. 61 was tripped up for five earned runs and 13 hits in 14.1 innings of work. Connor fanned 11 and issued only one walk on his way to a 2-0 record with a 3.14 ERA. With a grand total of 22 appearances in the books including 20 starts, Prielipp was tapped for 66 earned runs and 112 hits in 113.1 frames. After the math, that adds up to a 5-7 record with a 5.24 ERA.
Storming the bump for the home team will be right-hander Grayson Rodriguez. Lined up against the Nats, Red Sox, and Yankees in three September outings, No. 21 was bombed for 11 earned runs and 20 hits in 15.1 innings. Grayson whiffed 14 and walked seven on his way to an 0-2 record with a poor 6.46 ERA. On the year for the Halos, Rodriguez has make 18 starts and been clobbered for 59 earned runs and 98 hits in 87.0 frames. That's bad enough for a 4-7 tally with a 6.10 ERA.
Several profitable trends also point away from the Angels. Los Angeles has lost 283 of its last 477 games overall, 118 of its last 293 following a win, 136 of its last 240 at home, and 200 of its last 327 against non-division opponents. Minnesota has also won six of the last 10 meetings in this series.
