- Analysis
- I like Houston plus the points here on Friday night against Texas Tech. Their offense will be a force to be reckoned with when compared to last season's matchup.
Houston has come into this game 2-0. Averaging 55 points and 562 yards a game. Led by QB Conner Weigman who knows how to play in big situations. If their offensive line continues to play well they will have no problem throwing the ball at Tech's defense that gave up 417 passing yards to Oregon State.
Texas Tech is also coming in 2-0. But they have not been able to dominate their opponents. They had trouble finishing off Oregon State in their 35-24 win. Their QB Will Hammond has been dropping passes and throwing INT's. Along with injuries they have lost their corner back Amier Boyd and will be without their LB Trey White and TE Terrance Carter Jr.
With all of these factors in mind it's no wonder the money has been moving to the Houston side. Texas Tech was favored by 12.5-13 points at one point this week. Now sitting around Houston +7.5.
Houston can run the football and have a QB who knows how to play in big situations. Tech's defense will be a weakness for them to take advantage of. I love to see them get over a TD in what I think will be a close game to open up the Big 12 season.
