Yesterday’s Results for Miami Florida vs Wake Forest

Analysis: Miami FL has rolled to a pair of wins and covers to start the year. First, it was a 45-6 road win as 24.5 point favorites at Stanford. Then, the 5th ranked Hurricanes completely overwhelmed an overmatched FCS team (Florida A&M) 77-7 and even covered the closing number of -60.5. Going back to the end of last season, the U has covered the number in seven straight games. So not many are going to be willing to jump in front of them Friday night at Wake Forest. But it is a pretty big number to lay on the road against a conference opponent that won nine games last year. Wake Forest should have covered against Akron in the season opener (backdoored). Then they survived double overtime to win at Purdue 38-36. We think the Demon Deacons should be able to score enough here to stay inside the number. QB Gio Lopez is 15th in the country in passing yards per game and has yet to throw an interception. Miami will be dealing with multiple injuries in the secondary as three cornerbacks are out. Lopez should be able to take advantage. Not saying Wake Forest will threaten to win this game outright but staying within three touchdowns at home is something they should do. This spread is pretty similar to what we saw Miami lay at Stanford, a 4-win team last year. Wake deserves more respect. Play Wake Forest
