- The Lynx are a difficult team to fade as the current overall WNBA table leader at 12-3, owning an incredible +13.4 average scoring differential. This could be a difficult spot on the schedule however as the Lynx won comfortably Wednesday while still playing for a WNBA Cup title spot. They won but lost the tiebreaker with Las Vegas for a letdown that could leave a flat showing in Friday’s quick turnaround. This is a second straight road game and third road game out West in the past week for a demanding run. Golden State offers one of the toughest home courts in the league in its short existence and the Valkyries played Minnesota tough in Minneapolis just over two weeks ago, losing only 87-84, while leading 58 percent of that game. Minnesota shot 50 percent from 3-point range and had a big edge at the free throw line and still needed a 4th quarter comeback to win that game. Golden State was a nice story posting a competitive expansion season last year in front of great home crowds, but the Valkyries are ascending to contender status. Wednesday’s 11-point home win over Dallas deserves notice, now with four wins in a row and a 10-5 season record. Golden State owns the second best WNBA average scoring differential at this point in the season the 7-2 home record is currently the best home mark in the entire league. Golden State’s numbers have come through a top five ranked strength of schedule in the WNBA at this point as well.
