The Chicago Cubs host the Toronto Blue Jays. The Cubs had Thursday off, after taking 2 of 3 from the Rockies at home this week. An off day with no travel is a rare thing in the Big Leagues, so the Cubs should come in extra fresh. The Blue Jays beat the Red Sox on Thursday, but their bullpen in particular has done a lot of work in the past couple days. I think the Cubs are in the better position on Friday afternoon, and I will take the Cubbies on the Money Line. Kevin Gausman and Ben Brown will take the baseball for their teams. Gausman has been inconsistent this season, and he seems to be diminishing with age. He is not a guy I love to count on. Ben Brown has been strong as a starter for the Cubs, turning in 4 straight starts of 1 run or less. His offense is playing well for him too. I like Brown better than Gausman on Friday, and I especially prefer the rested Cubs bullpen over the wearier Blue Jay pen. I’ll take the Cubs to win the series opener.
