- My selection is on the 'over' between the United States and Australia at 3 pm et on Friday.
Apart from Canada's red card fuelled rout of Qatar, we saw the scoring settle down a bit as Matchday Two of this World Cup began yesterday. I do think we'll see plenty of scoring as the action resumes on Friday, however, beginning with this match between the host United States and Australia. As an alternate way to play this one at a more generous return, I also like the USA to win combined with both teams to score. A 2-1 result is how I see this one ultimately finishing although the opportunities will undoubtedly be there for the USA to eclipse that two-goal mark, just as it did in its raucous tournament-opening win over Paraguay. Australia was a surprise winner against Turkey in its opener but will be hard-pressed to repeat that performance here. Take the over (8*).
