- The Dodgers have an incredible lineup, but Los Angeles is one of the better ‘under’ teams in MLB. The occasional outburst boosts the season average for Los Angeles, but the Dodgers have topped five runs just once in the past six games. Los Angeles pitching can dominate on any night to keep the scoring down with a strong bullpen, including a 2.13 ERA in the past five games. Relief pitching has been a problem spot for the Orioles, but the bullpen has a respectable 3.98 ERA in the past five games. Trey Gibson has rough numbers in a small sample size this season, but he was quite good in AAA this season and ultimately, he has pitched well in four of five outings but had one tough start last weekend where he allowed six runs. This is a tough matchup, but Gibson pitched well at Yankee Stadium earlier this season and has faced almost exclusively winning teams. Roki Sasaki is 3-4 with a 4.76 ERA as arguably the weak link in the rotation for the Dodgers but one awful start last week bumped his numbers up considerably following a run of six excellent starts in a row since early May. Sasaki has a 3.26 ERA at Dodger Stadium and Baltimore’s offense has cooled off, batting .236 with only 4.1 runs per nine in the past 10 games, with that average down to .217 and 2.2 runs per nine in the past five games. The Dodgers have a few key batters on the IL right now and since late April, 18 of 23 Dodger home games have finished with nine or fewer runs scored.
