Analysis: Interleague Game of the Month. My selection is on Chicago over Toronto at 2:20 pm et on Friday. The Blue Jays are so close to the .500 mark they can taste it after a three-game sweep of the division rival Red Sox in Boston. I don't like the way this series-opener sets up for them on Friday as they play a second straight matinee affair on the road. The Cubs made some headway in a series against the Rockies and check in ranked 13th in the majors in xwOBA over the last week - 15 spots ahead of the Blue Jays over that stretch. What I really don't like about the setup for Toronto here is the fact that its bullpen is once again in overworked territory. While the Cubs figure to have 'all hands on deck' out of the 'pen, the Jays have five relievers having thrown around 30 pitches over the last three days. As well as Toronto starter Kevin Gausman has pitched this season, he's still just 4-4 and 14-15 dating back to the start of last season. Cubs starter Ben Brown has been one of their most reliable pitchers, logging a 2.35 FIP and 0.97 WHIP in time split as a starter and out of the bullpen. The Cubs have won each of his last three starts. Take Chicago (10*).
