- The Wild are coming into this game off of a 9-6 loss to the Avalanche in the 1st game of this series and they are down 1-0 in the series now. Their defense was awful in that game as they were trailing right away and they could never really get themselves back in the game with a lead. They still have one of the better defenses in the league though and they have allowed 2 goals or less in 3 of their last 4 games as their defense was playing very well in the last series. The Wild still need to push in this game for a win on the road if they want to win this series so they are going to get up for this game to try and even things up and they are going to be hungry to bounce back after such a brutal loss as well. It has been very rare this season that the Wild have even allowed 6 goals in a game. They have been very good after those games though, bouncing back with a win the last 4 straight times that they allowed 6 goals in a game, and they also bounced back with a win after the only game this season which they allowed 7+ goals in. They are going up against an Avalanche team that has been one of the better teams in the league all season and they have also been on fire in their recent games. They have won their last 8 straight games and have not lost a game in the playoffs yet with a sweep of the Kings in the last round, but they are not going to stay perfect through 2 rounds in the playoffs and the Wild certainly have the quality to beat them. The Avalanche have been much better on offense in their last 3 games, but their offense struggled a lot in the last round and their defense is starting to get exposed in this series against a much better offensive team in the Wild as well. The Wild will win this game.
