Analysis: I think this is a great spot to pull the trigger on the underdog Braves, who are looking to answer after last night's 5-4 series-opening loss here. Atlanta is now 13-5 on the road, while Seattle improves to 11-10 at home. I don't always base my picks around the starting pitchers, but I am, for the most part, for this particular selection. I give the nod to Bryce Elder (3-1, 1.88 ERA) of the Braves in this matchup, who enters with a sharp 36:13 K:BB. Elder is coming off an unfortunate no-decision against the Tigers on Thursday, allowing one run and striking out five over six innings. The home side counters with George Kirby (4-2, 3.00 ERA), who has a 34:11 K:BB, and who also enters off a no-decision, allowing two runs over five innings vs. Minnesota. Kirby was headed for his third loss before the Mariners rallied late. Atlanta had won six of seven prior to last night's loss, and I think it's the correct call to answer in the rematch here on Wednesday, with Elder having the advantage in this matchup, in my opinion.
