Analysis: I think the defending champs are poised for another deep Tournament run. I also think they'll be out to send an early message to the rest of the field by not overlooking their potentially dangerous opponent and instead, bury them from start to finish. Prairie View A&M is 18-17, while Florida is 26-7. The Gators looked decent in their 71-63 victory over Kentucky in the SEC Tournament, but they sure fell flat against Vanderbilt, losing 91-74 as 7.5-point favorites in their second game. The Gators failed to cover the spread in either of those games, which is in stark contrast to how they closed out the regular season, winning 11 straight and going 9-2 ATS over that span. Prairie View A&M isn't deep, but somehow it managed to win the SWAC Tournament, and then also upset Lehigh in the First Four, 67-55 as a 2.5-point underdog. But now I say the Panthers' finally "run out of gas" here. These teams haven't played since 2006, and in that contest, Florida won by a score of 94-33. The Gators high-powered offense averages 90.7 PPG, while the defense concedes 74.1. The Panthers average just 78.9 PPG, while conceding 76.1. It's been a Cinderella run for Prairie View A&M to this point, but now I think the magical ride ends in a massive blowout vs. this hungry Florida side coming into the tournament with a chip on its shoulder and with something to prove.
