Yesterday’s Results for Florida Panthers vs Calgary Flames

Analysis: My selection is on the 'over' between Florida and Calgary at 9:05 pm et on Friday. The Panthers delivered a 4-0 shutout victory in Edmonton last night, ending an extended stretch of defensive futility. While Friday's matchup looks favorable against the seemingly punchless Flames, I do think Calgary can find some offensive success in this particular matchup. Florida figures to turn to backup goaltender Daniil Tarasov after Sergei Bobrovsky started the last two games. Tarasov has really struggled lately, most recently allowing six goals in Seattle on Sunday. The Flames, while not finding the back of the net with consistency, have found a bit of a spark since the trade deadline and I see this as a potential breakout spot offensively. Calgary held St. Louis to a single goal in a shootout win two nights ago but prior to that had allowed a ridiculous 37 goals over its previous eight contests. Dustin Wolf likely gets the start in goal on Friday. The wheels have come off for the sophomore goaltender as he has given up 20 goals over his last five starts. Note that the lone previous meeting between these two teams this season totalled eight goals back in late November. Take the over (8*).
