- #557 PHILADELPHIA (+) over LA Clippers at 10:10 PM EST
In a zone right now off three straight up wins over New Orleans, Sacramento, and Milwaukee, Philadelphia will make it four straight when it travels to the Intuit Dome and picks up another dub and cover over Los Angeles. The Clippers just smoked the suns by 24 points yesterday and head coach Tyronn Lue and his squad will have problems in the second of this back-to-back.
A quick glance at the History Book reveals that the 76ers have dominated this series lately notching a strong 12-8 SU and 14-6 ATS record in the last 20 meetings. In this setting competing on the road, Philadelphia improves to a rewarding 7-2 ATS. Also, on foreign courts, head coach Nick Nurse and his crew have been competitive inking a reliable 13-8 SU and 15-6 ATS mark in their last 21 tries including a sensational 11-2 SU and 12-1 ATS provided their opponent holds a pointspread won/loss percentage of .515 or less.
On a powerful 17-4 SU and 16-5 ATS run in its last 21 games, Los Angeles has certainly played solid basketball lately. However, as a non-division host holding a team won/loss percentage less than .520, the Clippers carry a rough 28-55-3 ATS record provided they slip in off three or more true road games. In this setting priced as a favorite of -6 or less, Coach Lue and his squad fall to a dismal 5-26-2 ATS including a hideous 1-18-1 ATS provided this is a non-conference tilt. With those three parameters in play and LA facing a foe that is not off a blowout victory of 30 points or more, this trend crashes to a filthy 0-18-1 ATS. That spells trouble for the Clippers.
For as good as Los Angeles is playing right now, this number looks surprisingly short. It's there for a reason. Take Philadelphia. Thanks, and best of luck, Tom.
