- They're calling this the Bronco Mendenhall Bowl, as he leads his new team, the Utah State Aggies, against the team he abandoned after resuscitating the New Mexico Lobos last season.
I'm sure the Lobos would like to exact a little revenge, but I think the guy who deserves some of the credit for building Boise State's program from scratch will be know what to expect from the program he just rebuilt.
Mendenhall has the Aggies in position to make a run toward bowl eligibility, as they're 4-3 and two games away. They come in tied for 37th with an offense gaining more than 420 yards per game, while scoring the nation's 37th-highest scoring offense (34.0 points per game).
New Mexico is also 4-3, but I don't trust its passing defense, or the stop unit in the red zone, where it ranks 110th nationally. The Lobos, who are 20-44 ATS in conference play since 2017, have failed to cover 20 of their last 27 as a favorite.
