Analysis
#195 ILLINOIS (+) over Washington at 3:30 PM EST Off the 34-16 home loss to No. 1 Ohio State and with a week of rest under its belt, Illinois will travel to Washington and pull off the upset. Washington stumbles into this Big 10 battle off a 24-7 road loss at Michigan and this will be another tough spot for the Huskies. The blemish to the Buckeyes will have the Fighting Illini juiced up for this road game. Even though these two teams haven't tangled since 2014, Illinois has dropped the last two meetings by final scores of 44-19 (2014) and 34-24 (2019). Thankfully, in their last 26 battles, head coach Bret Bielema and his boys hold a reliable 18-8 SU and 15-8-1 ATS record including a strong 10-3 SU and 10-2-1 ATS provided they bust in off the comforts of a home game. In addition, in true road wars, the Fighting Illini have been an ATM machine lately inking a solid 16-5 ATS tally including a nearly perfect 13-1 ATS provided they slip in off a conference game. Finally, on foreign soil arriving with steam off a straight up loss, the Fighting Illini hold a golden 7-0 ATS mark in their last seven tries. This is going to be a tough spot for UW. In their last 31 games, the Huskies hold a poor 10-19 ATS record including a timid 1-5 SU and ATS if their opponent takes the field off a SU and ATS loss. Even worse, as a conference host, Washington sports a soft 22-33 ATS mark including a poor 6-16 ATS if their opponent slips in off a pointspread loss. Lastly, when stepping up in class and fighting a foe that owns a team won/loss percentage of .701 or higher, UW sports a nasty 3-7 SU and 1-9 ATS record in its last 10 tries. The Fighting Illini have averaged 33.9 points per game in their last 11 battles and won 10 of their last 11 straight up against unranked teams. Take Illinois. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
