Analysis
#167 KANSAS ST (+) over Kansas at 12 PM EST For the first time in 17 years, Kansas State will be the underdog in the Sunflower Showdown. The Wildcats have quietly ripped off an impressive 16-0 SU and 11-5 ATS record in the last 16 meetings and KSU head coach Chris Klieman will make darn sure that streak doesn’t end on his watch. Historically speaking, K State has played extremely well as a guest in this series sporting a solid 13-3 SU and 11-5 ATS record in its last 16 visits. In addition, since the start of the 2011 regular season, Coach Klieman and his troops have assembled a profitable 117-69 SU and 104-66-2 ATS mark including a sensational 36-9 SU and 33-12 ATS in this run provided their opponent takes the field without confidence off a double-digit straight up loss. With those two parameters live and both teams arriving off a conference battle, KSU jumps to a rewarding 28-7 SU and 27-8 ATS including an outstanding 9-2 SU and 11-0 ATS provided the Wildcats arrive off a straight up win of seven points or more. After a week of rest and that ugly 42-17 blowout road loss to the Red Raiders, the Jayhawks will have their hands full in this rivalry game once again. There are a couple of angles that work against Kansas as well. First, when locked into a revenge mode and now facing a .425 or better for that arrives off a SU and ATS win, Rock-Chalk has struggled inking a woeful 9-80 SU and 31-55-3 ATS record. As long as both participants arrive off a conference game, KU falls to a miserable 5-69 SU and 24-48-2 ATS. Additionally, when holding a team won/loss percentage of .501 or higher and now tackling a sub .500 foe, Kansas sports a woeful 4-8 SU and 2-9 ATS tally in its last 12 tries including a stiff 1-5 SU and 0-5 ATS if the Jayhawks are rolling in the comforts of home. The Wildcats have posted a proud 26-14 ATS mark in their last 40 when priced as an underdog and they don’t want to be the first team in 17 tries to lose to the Jayhawks. Coach Klieman and his surging squad keep the streak alive. Take Kansas St. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
