Analysis
#150 OKLAHOMA (-) over Mississippi at 12 PM EST With momentum off last Saturday’s 26-7 road win and cover at South Carolina, Oklahoma will return home and be fueled up and ready for this revenge opportunity. Back on October 26th, 2024, the Sooners (+19) visited Mississippi and left with a 26-14 loss in their pocket. Rest assured, OU head coach Brent Venables will have Boomer Sooner well prepared for this payback opportunity. Several strong angles line up on this investment. First, at home locked into a revenge mode, Oklahoma holds a respectable 17-3 SU and 12-8 ATS record in its last 20 tries. As long as the Sooners are not off a huge offensive performance where they scored 35 points or more last, this situation tightens up to a spectacular 10-1 SU and 9-2 ATS. Second, in Norman taking the field off a double-digit pointspread victory, OU carries a tremendous 59-7 SU and 40-25 ATS tally including a profitable 29-5 SU and 24-10 ATS provided its opponent holds a team won/loss percentage of .651 or better. With those two parameters live and Coach Venables and his players priced between -10.5 and +34 points, this trend jets to a stunning 13-2 SU and 14-1 ATS. After suffering their first loss of the season at Georgia in its last game, Mississippi (6-1 SU) will have trouble getting back on track emotionally off that heart-breaking defeat. There is a unique college system that works against the Rebels in this matchup, too. Since 1980, game eight teams that hold a 6-1 SU record own a soft 34-51-2 ATS mark provided they check in off their first straight up loss of the season. As long as neither team takes the field with rest, this system crumbles to a poor 21-41-1 ATS. Ole Miss fits both parts of that negative wagering situation. Also, in conference play priced between -3.5 and +10 points, head coach Lane Kiffin and his troops carry a dismal 18-40-1 ATS tally provided they are going into revenge. The Rebels are one of three SEC schools that the Sooners have never beaten – 0-2 SU. Considering OU holds a stunning 149-15 SU at home against Power Four schools, that record will change on Saturday. Take Oklahoma. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
