Analysis: Ole Miss is coming into this game with a 6-1 record this season and they are 3-1 in the conference. They are coming off of their 1st loss of the season which was on the road against Georgia 43-35, but that was a very bad game for them to lose since they did have a lead for 3 quarters. They were not playing well going into that game either, barely beating LSU at home 24-19 and following up with a 24-21 win at home against Washington State. Those 2 games really exposed their offense, especially the home game against LSU, and they are going to struggle again against one of the better defenses in the SEC. They are going up against an Oklahoma team that is 6-1 this season and they are 2-1 in the conference. Their only loss came against Texas 24-6 and their offense was awful in that game with Mateer playing his 1st game back from an injury, but they bounced back in their last game with a 26-7 win on the road against South Carolina. Mateer played much better in that win, but their run game was also much better and they are going to be able to run the ball against this Ole Miss defense that is allowing 166.7 rushing yards per game as well as 4.7 yards per carry. Oklahoma is going to be able to move the ball at will both on the ground as well as through the air, and this Ole Miss offense has already shown that they struggle against better defenses that can challenge them. Oklahoma will cover the spread in this game.
