- 2 Unit Play. Take #145 SMU Mustangs over Wake Forest Demon Deacons (12p.m., Saturday, October 25 CW) SMU has righted the ship and I see them destroying Wake Forest in this game. The Mustangs lost a couple of nonconference games to fellow Texas schools (TCU and Baylor) but they are perfect this season in the ACC. They beat Clemson last week in Death Valley and now get a much easy opponent in Wake Forest. The Deacons have played an easy schedule thus far and this will be the toughest team they have played. They took Georgia Tech to the wire, but they already have two home losses this season to those Yellow Jackets and to the Wolfpack. SMU has a strong quarterback in Kevin Jennings and he should be able to move this football against a strong Wake Forest defense. He has a 17-7 touchdown to interception ratio and can beat you with his arm or his legs. SMU has won 20 straight conference games, enough said.
