Tarik Skubal (11-4, 2.28 ERA) vs. Michael Wacha (8-10, 3.39 ERA) .
Despite the loss in the most recent outing for Skubal, he only gave up a single earned run in that game (six unearned.) This game, I don't expect any defensive errors behind him so he should be back to his game. He's the favorite to win AL Cy Young and there's a reason for that. Detroit's been great this season and that's why it's 9.5 games in front of KC for the AL Central lead at the moment.
Don't get me wrong, the Royals are a solid baseball team and Michael Wacha's been very underrated on the season. However, this is just a bad pitching matchup for them and I don't expect Wacha to keep up & go toe-to-toe with the likes of Skubal in this one. KC has a lot of home games coming up to win games. But, this isn't one of them.
