Golden Knights vs Avalanche Prediction

The current betting odds have the Avalanche listed as a favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Avalanche have looked great in their games this season with their 55-16-11 record overall which had them right at the top of their division in the West with the best record in the entire NHL. They have looked great on home ice too with their 26-9-6 home record this season. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights have looked good in their games this season with their 39-26-17 record overall which had them right at the top of their division in the West. They haven't been a great road team though with their 19-14-8 road record this year. This is game 1 of a 7-game series between the 1st seeded Avalanche from the Central Division and the 1st seeded Golden Knights from the Pacific Division for the Western Conference Finals of the NHL playoffs. The Golden Knights are off a 4-2 series win over the Ducks, but they haven't had the toughest path in the playoffs so far. They got by the Mammoth in the 1st round who were making their 1st ever playoff appearance as a franchise and they just beat up on a young Ducks team that made the playoffs for the 1st time in years. All of the good teams in the West this season were at the top of the Central Division though, and now the Golden Knights are going to get a taste of that. The Avalanche are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games and they have been rolling in the playoffs. They swept the Kings with ease in the 1st round and now they are off a 5-1 series win over the Wild who were one of the best teams in the NHL all season. The Avalanche look like the clear best team in the NHL right now and they are going to be able to take advantage of the Golden Knights on the road where the Golden Knights haven't looked as good. The Golden Knights also had some trouble at the start of both of their series' so far, so look for the Avalanche to come out strong and set the tone for this series in this game. The best way to place a bet here is on the Avalanche to win this game and on the puckline.

Notable Quotes

"We worked extremely hard for all these little goals we set throughout the year. We've got to take these couple days, whatever we have, try to refuel and refresh and be ready to go." - Mitch Marner after their win against the Ducks in game 6 of that series on Thursday.

“That one was something, but give them credit. I felt like there was some moments in the game where we were a little down, but we had enough guys that were upbeat, positive, kept the belief -- that kind of dragged the other guys into the fight a little bit. It wasn't everyone's best game, that's for sure, but that's what a team's all about. You're dragging each other into the fight and trying to find a way. It was a struggle, but we got it done.” - Jared Bednar after his team’s win against the Wild in game 5 of that series on Wednesday.
