UTSA vs Texas A&M Prediction
The current betting odds have Texas A&M listed as a 22.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Texas A&M wasn't the force they wanted to be in the SEC last season, but they still had a good year with their 8-5 record overall and they will be looking to build on that. Texas A&M is a team that recruits well every year and always has the talent on their roster, they just struggle to get it out. Last season was only Mike Elko's 1st season as head coach though and it wasn't a bad 1st season either so he will be looking to build on that year with a playoff appearance. They have tons of talent on both offense and defense, and their defense is going to be more improved this season too. Their offense will also look better in this game since UTSA had a terrible defense last season that gave up a ton of points, and they haven't done much to improve that defense either. UTSA has been one of the best teams in their own conference over the last few seasons, but last year was definitely a down year for them since they were only 4-4 in their own conference. They are returning a lot of those players too so this defense is going to continue giving up a ton of points this season, and the talent level is much higher at Texas A&M so UTSA won't be able to stop them. Texas A&M has some big expectations this season so even though this is a season opener against a much weaker team, they are not going to take this game lightly. The best way to place a bet here is on Texas A&M to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes
“I look back at 21 years of notes, and when you’re at this point right here, am I hitting too much? Am I hitting enough? Should we scrimmage more? Should we scrimmage less? Are we taking care of our guys? Are we getting ready? We’ve been practicing later and longer, and hopefully, all of those things are going to pay off for us. Because the A&M game is going to be here pretty quick.” - Jeff Traylor on his team coming into this new college football season.
"Yeah, so last year, you know, we got a a point during the season where, you know, the coverage piece of it was a little big scarier for us than it has been where I think now. We feel really good about that, and also had some edge guys and D-lineman who were pretty good one-one-one pass rushers." - Jay Bateman on their defense coming into this new CFB season.
