Utah State vs Texas A&M Prediction

The current betting odds have Texas A&M listed as a 29.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Texas A&M is 1-0 overall after a solid win to open up the season. They beat an in-state rival UTSA team that gave them some trouble at first, but once that Texas A&M offense got going, they were tough to stop. They won that game 42-24 and didn't cover the spread, but the offense looked a lot better throughout the game so this is going to be another game at home where their offense puts up points. The defense didn't look great as they gave up 24 points to a lesser opponent, but they will be looking to tighten up that defense in this 2nd game. Meanwhile, Utah State is 1-0 overall and looked good in their season opener with a home win against UTEP. UTEP isn't a great team though so that was a good win for Utah State to start the season, but they weren't really tested against that kind of opponent at home. Now they are playing their first road game of the season and it is against an SEC opponent so this will be a much tougher game for them to move the ball. They only gave up 16 points to UTEP last week, but this Texas A&M offense is rolling right now and they aren't going to take their foot off the gas at home. UTSA was an in-state rival so they brought their best effort for Texas A&M, Utah State isn't going to bring that same energy in this game though so look for Texas A&M to roll here. The best way to place a bet here is on Texas A&M to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“It was a really gratifying day. I’m really fortunate to be the coach at Utah State. The stadium was electric and with the HURD, our alumni and just the community members, it was really a home field advantage. I felt lucky to be the coach tonight. I'm super proud of the young men that I'm coaching and of them battling and persevering and showing resiliency from beginning to end. Ultimately, that's what winning college football games takes. With our first game, a new program, new players, there's a lot that goes into that, and I was really excited about the effort.” - Bronco Mendenhall after his team’s win against UTEP in their last game.

“A lot of the big question marks, I think showed to be good. We wanted to get more explosive on offense, we did. We wanted to get more explosive in the return game, we did. We wanted to see Marcel throw the ball a little bit better, he did.” - Mike Elko after his team’s win against UTSA in their last game.
