UCLA vs Oregon Prediction

The current betting odds have Oregon listed as an 11.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Oregon has looked good in their games this season with their 3-1 record overall and their 1-0 conference record which has them in the top half of the Big Ten. They have looked good on their home field too with their 2-0 home record this season. Meanwhile, UCLA has looked great in their games this season with their 4-0 record overall and their 2-0 conference record which has them right near the top of the Big Ten. They have been a good road team too with their 2-0 road record this year. UCLA has really turned things around this season with Bob Chesney in his 1st year coaching, but they still haven't been challenged yet with an easier schedule so far. They are coming off a 54-3 win over Maryland in their last one, but this is going to be their biggest challenge of the season so far. Oregon had a terrible start to the season as they looked really shaky against Boise State in their season opener and they ended up losing to Oklahoma State the next week. They have rebounded since then though and now they are coming off a 41-27 win over USC in their last one. They even lost their starting QB in that win to a scary looking injury, but they rallied around Raiola who looked great taking over and they have a ton of momentum on their side now as they are slowly putting the pieces back together. UCLA's turnaround to start the season has been a nice story, but they haven't really played anyone yet and this Oregon team still has tons of talent that could make them one of the best teams in the nation if they get rolling again. The best way to place a bet here is on Oregon to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"We need his best. You know, we need everybody's best, though, to be honest with you. It's not just any one guy. Obviously, a lot of it goes through him. He's done a phenomenal job up to this point in time of getting us into the right calls, handling his business the right way, protection, keeping himself safe, getting the ball out quickly, doing all the things he's got to be able to do. Today, he's got to be spot-on come Saturday. Day one—well, day two—of some of the new stuff, and he's done a really good job up to this point." - Bob Chesney on his team’s upcoming game against Oregon this week.

“Certainly (there was) an energy change when Dante got hurt.” - Dan Lanning after his team’s win against USC in their last game.
