Buccaneers vs Texans Prediction

The current betting odds have the Buccaneers listed as a 2.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Buccaneers have a 1-0 record overall this season and they looked good in their season opener. They beat the Falcons on the road 23-20 in a big divisional game that could have implications later in the season so that win is going to give them some momentum now. They started slow in that one, falling behind early, but they got going in the 2nd half and made the plays needed to win the game. The offense wasn't at it's best, but it is going to look better in week 2 here, and the defense looked a lot better than it was last season too. Meanwhile, the Texans have a 0-1 record overall this season and they didn't look great in their season opener. They lost on the road against the Rams 14-9 and their offense looked terrible in that one. They took a big step back last season as a team after that great 1st year that Ryans and Stroud had, but they still have a lot of problems on both sides of the ball and haven't fixed much from last season. The defense looked great and really kept them in that game, but the offense made critical mistakes which cost them the game. They will likely play better at home in this one, but the Bucs are also going to play better in week 2 as that offense didn't really get going last week, and the Buccaneers are just the better team right now. The best way to place a bet here is on the Buccaneers to cover the spread in this game.

“We were making progress, we were making plays, and the one thing that we talked about ... was protecting the football. They took the ball away two times, and took it at the most critical time there as we were driving down to score. Credit to the Rams.
