South Carolina vs Missouri Prediction

The current betting odds have Missouri listed as an 11.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Missouri has looked good in their games this season with their 3-0 record overall and their offense has been rolling in their games. They are off a 52-10 win over ULL and they have been putting up a ton of points in all 3 games. This is their first conference game of the season, but they do have a test under their belt already with a tough win over Kansas. They were down early in that one too, but they fought their way back with that great offense and were able to bury Kansas by the end of the game. Meanwhile, South Carolina has looked good in their games this season with their 2-1 record overall, but their 0-1 conference record has them right near the bottom of the SEC. They just took a bad 31-7 loss at home to Vanderbilt and they struggled in their 2 wins against weaker opponents too. Now they could be without their starting QB Sellers, but even when he has played this season, he hasn't looked great and is not living up to the hype surrounding him coming into the season. South Carolina's defense hasn't been bad, but they couldn't do much last week to keep Vandy from scoring when their offense wasn't performing, and they won't be able to do much on the road now against this better Mizzou offense. The best way to place a bet here is on Missouri to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“When you lose the leader of your football team and you lose your starting quarterback like that — and we were doing a lot of good things. I was pleased with a lot of the stuff we were doing offensively. I told the team at halftime that we’ve got to go out and continue to play good football, because we were doing a lot of really good stuff. But I don’t like the way that we started the second half offensively.” - Shane Beamer after his team’s loss against Vandy in their last game.

“If I’m going to be real, obviously, their starting quarterback got dinged up, and he’s a really, really good player, so coming on the road in the SEC environment versus that front, we just felt like we needed to be very aggressive and relentless in our coverage. I don’t think we called much zone cover today. I think the first completion they had was zone, and that was about it." - Eli Drinkwitz after his team’s win against ULL in their last game.
