Meanwhile, Miami also had a great season last year as they were 10-3 overall and missed out on the playoffs. They were 6-2 in their conference and have been one of the strongest forces in the ACC over the last few seasons, but they have changed a lot of the players on their roster and will look like a different team this year. Their defense was also terrible last season, giving up a ton of points, and it was their offense that bailed them out a lot and kept them in games. They lost their starting QB to the NFL though and Carson Beck just hasn't looked as good as Ward has over the years. Beck will be playing this season with something to prove, but it won't be easy moving the ball against this defense. Notre Dame is the better team considering how they have the much stronger defense to help them out and they have the better head coach when it comes to in-game decision making. The best way to place a bet here is on Notre Dame to cover the spread in this game.
