The NFL Preseason schedule got underway last week with the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Detroit Lions, 34-7.
One of the things I like to do in the Preseason is play on a team with a game under its belt if its opponent is playing its first preseason game. Since 1983, our teams that have played at least one preseason game have gone 72-51-8 ATS vs. an opponent playing its first preseason game. And it doesn't matter whether our 'play-on' team is coming off a win (35-26-3 ATS) or a loss (37-25-5 ATS). Or if it is at home (31-24-2 ATS) or playing away from home (41-27-6 ATS). Or if it is an underdog/PK (33-19-5 ATS) or favored (39-32-3 ATS). All subsets have shown a profit.
This season, our NFL System of the Week has two plays: the Lions are -3.5 at Atlanta on Friday, while the Chargers are a 1-point home dog vs. New Orleans on Sunday.
Consider playing both Detroit and Los Angeles.
Good luck, as always...
