Last season, their offense was averaging 33.5 points scored per game while their defense was allowing an average of 33.5 points per game. They have a new starting QB who is going to help improve the passing game and the defense is still going to be good too. Meanwhile, New Mexico had a bad season last year, finishing 5-7 overall and 3-4 in the MWC, and they don't have a lot going on this season either. They lost a lot of the talent that they had on both offense and defense last season, and now they have a new head coach who hasn't really coached at this level before. New Mexico is going to have a lot of growing pains this year with a new team and new head coach. They also don't bring in the kind of talent that Michigan does so this should be a game that Michigan runs away with at home, especially since that New Mexico offense will struggle to move the ball on this much better defense. The best way to place a bet here is on Michigan to cover the spread in this game.
