NBA Season Win Totals- Four Win Totals to Consider
The NBA is back! It comes around quickly, and this is a long season. Be ready for every team to have its highs and lows. I wanted to take a look at four season win total wagers to consider for the season ahead.
- Portland Blazers under 41.5- The Portland Blazers were a surprise last year. They went 42-40, but had a negative point differential for the season. Can Damian Lillard be the same in his upper 30’s and coming off a major injury? Portland now has a lot of guys who are accustomed to having the basketball all the time. This is going to be a big adjustment. Sharpe was one of their best players last year and he is out until March. There are plenty of guys on this roster who are name brands now, but the Western Conference is deep and I think they slip.
- New York Knicks under 52.5- The New York Knicks had a fantastic season last year. It was fun to see them make a run and win the title. I think it will be tough for them to have the same sort of luck they had throughout the season last year. The Knicks are an older roster, and last season they were the healthiest team in the NBA. Can nearly everyone stay healthy again this season? The odds are against that happening once again. Mitchell Robinson wasn’t good on offense, but they’ll miss his defense. The Knicks are very thin in the frontcourt now.
- Cleveland Cavaliers over 48.5- The Cleveland Cavaliers might not be built for a long postseason run, but I think they are built to win a lot of regular season games. Cleveland doesn’t have good perimeter defenders, but that primarily matters in the postseason when the games mean more to the top teams. Cleveland does have a lot of scoring options, and they are likely to get on some hot stretches through the season.
- Utah Jazz under 38.5- The Utah Jazz do have a good home court advantage, but this team has too many holes. Utah relies far too much on a couple guys to carry them on a nightly basis. This team lacks the depth that most of the teams in the Western Conference have as far as scoring options. I think this is a few wins too high.
