Michigan vs Oklahoma Prediction

The current betting odds have Oklahoma listed as a 4.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Oklahoma is 1-0 overall and they are looking to have a big year after some disappointing seasons under Brent Venables. This is a make or break year for Venables and so far the team looked really good in their season opener. They weren't playing anyone special as they beat Illinois State 35-3, but Mateer looked great in the offense and the defense continues to be good under Venables. Meanwhile, Michigan is also 1-0 overall and had a tougher opponent in week 1 as they did play a team from the FBS, but New Mexico still isn't a great team. They beat New Mexico 34-17 and the offense looked good with their freshman QB, but the issues actually came on defense for them. They gave up 17 points at home and the defense didn't look nearly as good as it has looked in years past. That is going to be a big issue for them this season, especially against an SEC opponent that has a good defense and a really good defensive coach. Michigan will put up some points with that offense, but Oklahoma will be able to move the ball well at home against this weakened Michigan defense and that will be a key piece to them winning this game. The best way to place a bet here is on Oklahoma to cover the spread in this game.
