Miami vs Stanford Prediction
The current betting odds have Stanford listed as a 24.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Stanford is coming off a terrible 4-8 season and they have been near the bottom of the conference for a few years now. Andrew Luck was brought in to turn the team around though and after going through a transition period last season, they have hired their next head coach now. Stanford will be looking to improve to at least a bowl record this year and even when they have been really bad in years past, they have still been a tough team to beat at home. Meanwhile, Miami is coming off a great season going 13-3 and they had one of the best teams in the nation. They didn't get a chance to play for the ACC Championship, but that didn't matter as they were good enough to make the CFP. They ended up going on a big run too with wins over Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, getting to the National Championship where they lost a tight 27-21 game to Indiana who went undefeated. They had one of the best defenses in the nation all year and that defense is going to be dangerous again this season. They also reloaded with another really talented QB, so they have plenty of talent on offense once again. Miami has also had a history of stumbling in their conference games though, not even making the ACC Championship last season despite going to the National Championship, and this is no easy game to start the season with on the West coast. Miami has the talent to win this game comfortably, but it is still their first game of the year on the road and Stanford is no puch over at home. Stanford will be able to put up points in this game and keep the score respectable. The best way to place a bet here is on Stanford to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes
“Progress. Guys getting better, some a little bit more advanced than others, but others catching up fast. Finding the opportunity to get more guys that we can trust more in certain situations. Other guys still have to earn trust, but the competition continues on. This is no different than any other day of camp. They have to go to class right now. They’ve got to come back. We’ve got to go to meetings. We’ve got to lift. We’ve got to watch that film. We’ve got to go get better.” - Mario Cristobal on his team coming into this new college football season.
“The things that stick out to me about Davis are he absolutely just loves football and he loves preparing. He loves watching film. He loves kind of diving in the different situational aspects of the position and football. It’s one thing that’s just so refreshing as a coach because I’m a player who became a coach because I’m a football nerd. I’m a geek. I love it. So when and have players like that who are really in that space with you, it’s energizing.” - Tavita Pritchard on naming Davis Warren as the starting QB.
