Miami-Florida finished last season with a 13-3 record overall and they had a 6-2 record in their conference games too.  They were 7-1 in their home games, 4-1 in their road games, and they were also 2-1 in their neutral site games last season, but they will be on the road for this season opener. Last season, their offense was averaging 30.9 points scored per game while their defense was allowing an average of 14.8 points per game. Their offense also averaged 405 yards per game while their defense was allowing an average of 294.1 yards per game. Stanford will be looking to improve to at least a bowl record this year and even when they have been really bad in years past, they have still been a tough team to beat at home. Meanwhile, Miami is coming off a great season going 13-3 and they had one of the best teams in the nation. They didn't get a chance to play for the ACC Championship, but that didn't matter as they were good enough to make the CFP. They ended up going on a big run too with wins over Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, getting to the National Championship where they lost a tight 27-21 game to Indiana who went undefeated. They had one of the best defenses in the nation all year and that defense is going to be dangerous again this season. They also reloaded with another really talented QB, so they have plenty of talent on offense once again. Miami has also had a history of stumbling in their conference games though, not even making the ACC Championship last season despite going to the National Championship, and this is no easy game to start the season with on the West coast. Miami has the talent to win this game comfortably, but it is still their first game of the year on the road and Stanford is no puch over at home. Stanford will be able to put up points in this game and keep the score respectable. The best way to place a bet here is on Stanford to cover the spread in this game.
