Georgia State finished last season with a 3-9 record overall and they had a 1-7 record in their conference games too.  They were 2-4 in their home games, 1-5 in their road games, and they were also 0-0 in their neutral site games last season, but they will be on the road for this season opener. Their defense has always been a problem, but they have made an effort to improve on that this year and they aren't playing a team that is going to light them up on defense either. Georgia State was one of the worst teams in the Sun Belt last season, finishing 3-9 overall and 1-7 in the conference. They are returning their starting QB from last season, but he wasn't that good with the season they had and a lot of the players around him have changed too. Dell McGee is in his 2nd season now as head coach so the QB should show some improvement, but there are a lot of new faces on both offense and defense so this is a team that could need some time to figure things out. This is not a good team to start the season with for a team like GA State and they won't be able to keep up offensively with the talent that Ole Miss has. The best way to place a bet here is on Ole Miss to cover the spread in this game.
