Georgia vs Tennessee Prediction

The current betting odds have Georgia listed as a 4 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Georgia has looked great in their games this season with their 2-0 record overall. They haven't played any tough opponents yet, but their defense has looked really good as they break in their new QB. The offense wasn't great against Austin Peay last week and they have struggled at times in their first 2 games, but this defense hasn't been giving up many points in their games and that is where this Georgia team is going to be a threat. Meanwhile, Tennessee has looked great in their games this season with their 2-0 record overall too. They just beat East Tennessee State 72-17, but they did get tested in week 1 with a win over Syracuse. Tennessee has looked great on offense in their 2 games so far, but it has actually been their defense that has been a big issue. They were a lot better than Syracuse in week 1, but their defense kept allowing Syracuse back in that game and they gave up quite a few points to them. Now they just dropped 70 in their last game against a team from the FCS, but they still struggled in the first half of that one and their defense still gave up 17 points in the end. Josh Heupel usually has a much better defense and that is what kept them in a lot of games last year, but the defense is not there this season and that gives Georgia a big edge in this game, even being on the road. The best way to place a bet here is on Georgia to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“Really physical. I thought he got yards after contact." - Kirby Smart on Chauncey Bowens after his team’s win against APU in their last game.

“I’m going to be honest, I thought we were really sloppy at times. There’s a lot that we need to clean up. We need to play better. That’s in some of our targets, our perimeter screen game, our execution in the pass game. There’s a lot to improve on. Second half, we’ll define what we’re about. We need to come out and execute and play better than we did.” - Josh Heupel after his team’s win against ETSU in their last game.
