England Premier League Futures (2026/27 Season)

The start of the English Premier League is right around the corner now with the 1st match to be played on Friday, August 21. Arsenal is the defending champion of the league after an impressive season and will be looking to repeat, but the league has also been a lot more competitive over the last few years. Manchester City was the dominant club in the league for a while over the last decade, but now the league has had 3 different champions the last 3 straight seasons. With the start of the league just around the corner now, it is time to see who has the best chance at winning the Premier League Title this season. 

Arsenal +150: Arsenal is coming into this season as the team with the best chance at winning the Premier League Title, according to the oddsmakers. Arsenal is the defending champion of the league after a 26-7-5 season, finishing with 85 points and a +44 goal differential with 71 goals scored and 27 goals allowed. They had the 2nd best attack in the league behind Man City and they also had the best defense, being the only team to concede less than 30 goals. They also went on a very deep run in Champions League, going all the way to the Final where they lost to PSG in penalties. They still had a very accomplished season with their 1st Premier League Title in 2 decades, but Champions League is also a highly coveted trophy that they are going to be a lot more focused on this year after getting to the Final last season. Arsenal has lost a bit of their quality, but they did not lose much and they also did a very good job replacing that talent. Their team has not changed much from last season though, so they are still going to have the quality and the depth to be one of the better teams in the league. They will also have a lot less pressure to win the title after finally getting over the hump last season, but since they did win it last season, the Premier League could also end up taking a backseat to Champions League late in the year if they find themselves making another deep run. They are going to be a lot more focused on getting over the hump in Champions League this season, a competition that they have never won, and they have been in some tight races in the Premier League late in the season the last few years, so it would not be shocking to see them stumble in a tight race if Champions League is still on the table. Arsenal certainly does still have the quality and the depth to win the Premier League again, but the league has not had a repeat winner the last 3 seasons and this is not a good price for Arsenal as the favorite. There is not a lot of value in Arsenal at this price.

Manchester City +275: Man City is coming into this season as the team with the next best chance at winning the Premier League Title, according to the oddsmakers. Man City is coming off of a very good season finishing in 2nd place in the Premier League with 78 points from a 23-9-6 record and they had a +42 GD, scoring 77 goals and allowing 35 goals. They had the best attack in the Premier League as well as the 2nd best defense behind Arsenal, being just 1 of 2 teams in the league who averaged less than 1 goal allowed per match. This is going to be a very different Man City team as previous years though. The Pep Guardiola era in Man City has finally come to an end and with him goes the dominance of the club. They did hire Enzo Maresca to take over and he was in charge of turning around a Chelsea club that was in complete turmoil just 2 years ago. He ended up getting Chelsea on the right track before leaving and now he will be looking to take Man City back to the top of the league where they have spent most seasons over the last decade, but there are some glaring problems with the squad. They replaced their goalkeeper with Donnarumma who is certainly an upgrade for them, but the defense has lost a lot of quality and is not going to be as good this year unless some major changes are made. They lost a lot of key pieces on defense that they have not really replaced with similar quality and the pieces that they did lose were also the heart of their defense. The attack and midfield are going to be similar to last season with Erling Haaland still leading the way, but he is going to have to carry a lot more weight on his shoulders to bail out the defense. When Maresca was at Chelsea the last 2 years, they were known for having a very potent attack that could score a lot of goals, so that is going to be a positive for Haaland and company, but that Chelsea team also had some big problems on defense with Maresca in charge. Man City still has the quality to be one of the better teams in the league this season and their attack will be able to bail them out of a lot of matches as well, but this is still going to be a very different team than previous years and they are going to have to prove themselves under this new manager before they can be chalked up as a threat to win the title every year like they were in the Pep days. There is not a lot of value in Man City at this price with a new manager and a defense with less quality. 

Liverpool +500: Liverpool is coming into this season as the team with the next best chance at winning the Premier League Title, according to the oddsmakers. Liverpool is coming off of a season finishing in 5th place with 60 points from a 17-9-12 record and they had a +10 GD, scoring 63 goals and allowing 53 goals. Liverpool had the best start to the season last year and were at the top of the table after 5 weeks, but they completely collapsed shortly after their hot start and were fighting the whole 2nd half of the season just to get back into the top 5. Their defense was a big problem last season as they were averaging close to 1.5 goals allowed per match and they have made some moves to improve that defense for this year, but the changes they have made do not jump off the page either. Their attack was very good last season and was able to bail out their poor defense in some of their matches, but that attack is going to look very different this year. They still have a lot of quality in their midfield, but they lost a lot of attacking talent with the departure of Mo Salah and Luis Diaz. They still have some solid goal scorers, but they lost some key pieces as well and this attack is going to look very different now. Liverpool has not been the same team since losing Klopp either and they have been searching for answers ever since he left, now with another new manager this season, their 2nd manager in 3 seasons since Klopp left. Liverpool is another team with too many new faces to be considered a threat to win the league this year, especially after such an awful collapse last season. There is no real value in Liverpool to win the Premier League Title at this price. 

Manchester United +700: Man Utd is coming into this season as the team with the next best chance at winning the Premier League Title, according to the oddsmakers. Man Utd is coming off of a season finishing in 3rd place with 71 points from a 20-11-7 record and they had a +19 GD, scoring 69 goals and allowing 50 goals. They had the 3rd best attack in the league last season, but their defense was not great. They did have a very poor start to the season though and were struggling a lot before hiring Carrick to take over as manager in January and they ended the season as one of the best teams in the Premier League. They were able to surge up the table and finish in 3rd place after an awful start to the year and Carrick ended up going 11-3-2 with the team to end the season. Man Utd is also a team that has been in turmoil for years now with a revolving door of managers over the last few years, but it looks like they have finally found the right man for the job. They have lost a bit of quality from last season, but they have also made some moves to bring in more quality and improve even more this season. Man Utd has a lot of momentum with the way they ended last season too and there is going to be a focus on winning the Premier League now that Carrick will be here for the start of the season. Man Utd is a team that has not had a lot of success in recent years, but they are starting to trend in the right direction and this is one of the better clubs in Premier League history, looking to get back to glory. Man Utd is going to continue to improve under this manager this season and they have the quality to be a threat in this league. They are a team with a lot of promise this season and Carrick looks like the right man to wake up this sleeping giant. There is a lot of value in Man Utd to win the Premier League Title at this price. 

Chelsea +800: Chelsea is coming into this season as the team with the next best chance at winning the Premier League Title, according to the oddsmakers. Chelsea is coming off of a season finishing in 10th place with 52 points from a 14-10-14 record and they had a +6 GD, scoring 58 goals and allowing 52 goals. They took a big step back last season after turning things around the last 2 years and now their future is uncertain. They lost a lot of their quality for this season, including a key piece in Cucurella who was one of their better players. He was a good defensive piece as well as the engine that made their attack so dangerous. He is a very difficult player for them to replace and their attack is going to suffer for it this year. They also had some major problems on defense last year and that is not going to improve much this season with the pieces they have. They were also a club that was in turmoil just 2 years ago before hiring Enzo Maresca as manager and he did a lot to turn the team around, but now he has taken the job at Manchester City, so Chelsea must start over with another new manager now. They did hire a great manager in Xabi Alonso who was in charge of a great Leverkusen club that actually won the Bundesliga Title 3 years ago, but his team did take a step back the next season as Bayern Munich retook the league and now he is coming off of a 1-year stint at Real Madrid and failed to win any trophies with one of the most talented squads in the world. Alonso will get Chelsea back on track in the Premier League, but it is going to take some time and they are not going to be a big threat this season with the quality that they have lost. They will likely be better than the way they finished last season, but there is no real value in Chelsea at this price as a true contender. 

After years of being dominated by the same club, the Premier League has finally had some major changes at the top of the league. Coming into this season, 3 of the top 5 contenders in the league have new managers with a lot of changes to their squads as well. Arsenal is still clearly the best and the deepest team in the Premier League this season and they certainly have the quality to be the 1st repeat winner in 3 years, but +150 is not a lot of value for a team that has been in multiple tight title races the last few years and has choked a lot of them away. Arsenal at +150 is the safe choice, but there is still a lot of time for squads to change to challenge them. Manchester United at +700 is a great option as a potential dark horse to win it this year after having one of the strongest finishes to the season and a lot of momentum with this new manager. Arsenal at +150 is still the safe option, but Manchester United at +700 is a great option when looking for a true contender with some good value.
