Cowboys vs Giants Prediction

The current betting odds have the Giants listed as a 2.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Giants had a 4-13 record overall last season and they were one of the worst teams in the NFL. They have been a disaster for years though, being one of the worst teams in the NFL the last few years, but now they will be looking to turn things around. They have drafted well over the last 2 years and they have a lot of exciting talent on both sides of the ball. Now they have hired a competent head coach too and John Harbaugh is a man who has had a lot of success winning in this league. He is going to set the Giants up for success this season and they have a great opportunity at home here to make a statement to the league. Meanwhile, the Cowboys had a 7-9-1 record overall last season which wasn't terrible, but they did miss the playoffs. They had one of the best offenses in the NFL and were putting up a ton of points every week, but they also had one of the worst defenses in the league and that really held them back. They could have been a playoff team last year with a better defense and it didn't help that they started the season by trading away their best player on defense. They should be improved this season, but they still have a long way to go to become a good defense, so the offense is going to have to carry them again. The Giants have a lot of young talent on offense that will be able to put up points here and the Giants defense does have some talent to slow down this Cowboys offense too. Harbaugh will be looking to make a statement in his 1st game against a division rival and they have the talent to pull off an upset here. The best way to place a bet here is on the Giants to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“I think at the end of the day, I think it’s a tough day for everybody. It’s a tough day for the person like myself that has to inform them that you’re releasing them. It’s a tough day for the person that has to hear that news. A lot of things go through your mind. I’m big on real relationships, and I’m big on having open and honest conversation.” - Brian Schottenheimer on releasing players from the roster.

“I think we’re a team that’s ready to go start the season and we’re looking forward to that. They practiced well. Every day. That’s really it. I mean, just look at the football. I think we look good, but how good we look you never know until you start playing games, honestly. You can feel good about things or you can feel bad about things in practice, but you start playing the games, that gives you an idea of really where you’re at.” - John Harbaugh on his team’s season opener against the Cowboys.
