Big Al's Daily Angle: NFL, MLB and Champions League Previews and Odds - 09/10/26

The Thursday sports card features NFL, MLB, and UEFA Champions League action.  

Week 1 in the National Football League continues with one game. The Los Angeles Rams plays the San Francisco 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground Melbourne, Australia, on Netflix at 8:35 p.m. ET. The Rams are a 3.5-point favorite with the total set at 48.5 (all odds from DraftKings). 

Major League Baseball has five games scheduled. The Atlanta Braves host the Tampa Bay Rays at 12:15 p.m. ET. The Braves send out Martin Perez to pitch against the Rays’ Nick Martinez. Atlanta is a -122 money-line favorite with an over/under of 8.5. 

The Philadelphia Phillies play at home against the Houston Astros at 1:05 p.m. ET. Zack Wheeler gets the ball for the Phillies to pitch against Cristian Javier for the Astros. Philadelphia is a -184 money-line favorite with a total of 8.5. 

The Seattle Mariners are at home to take on the Texas Rangers on Peacock at 4:10 p.m. ET. The Mariners have won two of their last three games after their 3-2 victory against the Rangers on Wednesday. Seattle has a 68-78 record which puts them in third place in the AL West, six games behind the Houston Astros. The Rangers had won two games in a row before that loss. With a 72-74 record, Texas is in second place in AL West, two games behind the Astros. The Mariners turn to Logan Gilbert to face the Rangers’ Jacob deGrom. Seattle is a -131 money-line favorite with an over/under of 7. 

The New York Yankees host the Colorado Rockies at 7:05 p.m. ET. Max Fried takes the hill for the Yankees to duel against Ryan Feltner for the Rockies. New York is a -346 money-line favorite with a total of 9. 

The Pittsburgh Pirates travel to Chicago to play the White Sox at 7:40 p.m. ET. The Pirates turn to Jared Jones to challenge the White Sox’s Hagen Smith. Both teams are priced as a -110 money-line favorite with an over/under of 7.5. 

Matchday 1 in the UEFA Champions League concludes with six league phase matches. Two matches start at 12:45 p.m. ET. AS Roma plays at Fenerbahce on the CBS Sports Network as a -0.5 goal-line road favorite with a total of 2.5. PSV Eindhoven plays at home against Shakhtar Donetsk as a -1.5 goal-line favorite with an over/under of 3.5. 

Four matches conclude the UCL card at 3 p.m. ET. Bayern Munich is at home to battle Bodo/Glimt as a -3.5 goal-line favorite with a total of 4.5. Como hosts RB Leipzig on the CBS Sports Network as a -0.5 goal-line favorite with an over/under of 3.5. Manchester United plays at home against Sabah FK as a -2.5 goal-line favorite with a total of 3.5. Lens is on the road to challenge Slavia Prague as a -0.5 goal-line road favorite with an over/under of 2.5. All six Champions League matches are available on Paramount+.
