The Thursday sports card features MLB and WNBA action.

The WNBA has two games on tap. The Washington Mystics host the Portland Fire at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Mystics won for the fourth time in their previous five games with a 79-62 victory on the road against the Toronto Tempo as a 1.5-point favorite on Tuesday. With a 12-10 record, they are 1 1/2 games behind the Indiana Fever in first place in the Eastern Conference.

The Fire lost for the fifth time in their last seven games in a 90-87 loss in Connecticut against the Sun as a 6.5-point underdog on Tuesday. Their 10-14 record puts them in sixth place in the Western Conference, 8 1/2 games behind the Minnesota Lynx in first place. Washington is a 5.5-point favorite with the total set at 163.5 (all odds from DraftKings). 

The Dallas Wings play at home against the New York Liberty on Amazon Prime Video at 9:00 p.m. ET. The Wings are on a five-game winning streak after their 96-91 win against Chicago as a 9.5-point favorite on Sunday. With a 16-8 record, they are in fourth place in the Western Conference, 2 1/2 games behind the Lynx. 

The Liberty are on a three-game losing streak after a 93-91 loss at Toronto against the Tempo as a 1.5-point underdog on Sunday. Their 14-11 record puts them in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, one game behind both the Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever in first place. Dallas is a 1.5-point favorite with an over/under of 176.5. 

Major League Baseball returns from the All-Star break with one game scheduled. The Philadelphia Phillies are at home against the New York Mets on ESPN at 7:10 p.m. ET. The Phillies have won two games in a row after their 5-0 victory on the road in Detroit against the Tigers on Sunday. With a 54-43 record, they are in second place in the National  League East division, two games behind the Atlanta Braves. They send out Aaron Nola to take the mound. The right-hander has a 3-6 record with a 5.75 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP in 19 starts this season.

The Mets have lost three games in a row after a 3-2 loss at home against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. Their 40-57 loss puts them in last place in the NL East, 12 games behind the Braves. New York sends out Christian Scott to take the mound. The right-hander has a 2-1 record with a 3.17 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 12 starts. Philadelphia is a -131 money-line favorite with a total of 9.5.
